Frost Heaves add 2 more to 2010 Roster 11/10/2009 12:02 PM South Burlington, VT - The Vermont Frost Heaves have added two additional players to their 2010 Roster. Brandon Ball, a 5'11" guard and Jay Greene, a 5’8” guard has agreed to terms for the upcoming season.
Brandon Ball played for NCAA Division II Michigan Tech in 2009 and was a GLIAC North Division All-Defensive Team selection. "We are so excited to have Brandon to help provide leadership on our team from the Point guard position," states Head Coach Jeff Strohm. "He is a physically strong defender who displayed the abilities to lead, direct and drive a team on the offensive end of the court. He is a tremendous communicator who thinks like a coach on the floor. "
Jay Greene is a 2009 graduate of UMBCC where he excelled in the America East Conference. He was a member of the UMBCC starting five in 2009 where he played in 31 games last season and averaged 12.7ppg, 3.2rpg, and 6.0apg. He shot 40.4% from the field and shot 34.0% from beyond the arc. He was a three-year all tournament team selection in '07, '08 and '09 and was selected to the all AEC second team in 2009.
Greene impressed Coach Strohm at the Frost Heaves recent tryout camp. "Jay is a very enthusiastic, and competitive player who plays the game with a huge chip on his shoulder that Frost Heave fans will enjoy," stated Strohm. "Jay displayed an ability to lead his team on both ends of the floor with only one concern.... winning. While he may not be large in stature, he is large where it counts - heart, head, and humility."

I watched Greene play against UVM the last 4 years. He's an excellent passing point guard and a good 3 point shooter. I'm glad we signed him.
