Jam fall to 0-7
RENO, Nev. -- Desmon Farmer notched the third triple-double in Bighorns franchise history Sunday afternoon, propelling Reno to a 109-88 victory over the Bakersfield Jam in the Reno Events Center.
Farmer finished with 20 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists, becoming the first Bighorn to collect a triple-double this season. Along the way, Farmer moved into third place on the NBA D-League's all-time career scoring list.
Reno (3-3) jumped out to a commanding lead in the first period, led by 17 points at halftime and increaed that to a 26-point advantage through three quarters.
Bakersfield (0-7) outscored the Bighorns in the fourth quarter, but the effort would fall short.
Justin Hawkins led five Jam players in double figures with 20 points and two blocks. Jeremy Wise scored 17 off the bench, and Tyrelle Blair pulled down 13 rebounds.
For Reno, Russell Robinson led the scoring with 21 points, including five three-point field goals. Marcus Hubbard enjoyed his best day as a Bighorn, netting 19 points with a game-high 18 rebounds, a new franchise record.
The Bighorns and Jam will hook-up again at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Reno.
