Hey Dog,
Whaling crews were paid in terms of a "lay" .... a percentage share of the net profit. I wonder if players, coaches, and managers could be hired on some base-salary scale with a "lay". The base would carry them through the season and the percentage share would help our cash flow, provide incentive and (?) promote unity.
Please, I see the language connotation problem but that might be a positive opening point in negotiations......

Thanks for the suggestion. Because we're a non-profit, we're not allowed to offer profit-sharing incentives. We can build in performance bonuses, though. Thanks for the idea...keep them coming!
Don't forget to consider being part of the "starting line-up"!
