After all that has happened w the PBL .... (read Holy Crap) plus our dismal schedule plus PR in, then out etc. etc .... After all that has happened I'd say the PBL has served us no better than the ABA. I suggest that the Frost Heaves, Halifax, St John, Montreal, Quebec, Cape Cod... and other ??? "local" teams form a "North-Atlantic League". Surely we can all be better served by local rule. Perhaps we even could sit together and agree to a clean low-contact level of play (hey, even the Millrats cleaned up their game this year).
There are enough experienced teams in our region to make this work. We don't need the PBL.

What you have just proposed above was the original idea of the PBL.
I don't think it's reasonable to leave out a powerful, successful franchise like Rochester out of a regional league. The fact of the matter is that minor league basketball will be hard to turn on a profit on anyways, and solid franchises are hard to come by. Only one of the franchises you listed has avoided all rumors of a demise, and some don't even exist. We should just work on making the PBL better now, rather than dashing off for yet another new league.

It is fine with me if Rochester is in our new league. I just overlooked them. Basically, I'd like to see a more compact travel schedule. Rochester and Halifax are about as far out as I'd like the FH to travel. And, yes, It is true I am dreaming of teams that don't exist. Cape Cod (?) did once have a team. The Millrats are now St. John..... ?
I am thinking: We have little say in how the PBL is run. The PBL has made many blunders that we came to expect from the ABA. Our schedule was terrible. I don't hold hope that the PBL will take care of us. But, I tended to ignore the ABA vs PBL arguments / comments that flooded this blog before we joined the PBL so my details are likely dull. However, I am convinced that the PBL is no gift from God.
Is it possible to reform the PBL? Would our input count?
